Morning reflection: I drew the Spirit of Wands from The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot for today. I am always drawn to animal imagery and noted the lion immediately. I thought of the Strength card and noted that it might relate to a sense of courage, bravery, and strength. I also noticed the lizard and wasn't quite sure what it meant until my husband randomly stated "I love you salamander..." (We randomly call each other weird things, but this might have been a message from spirit!). That lizard is a salamander! Salamanders are the elementals of Fire and the suit of wands represent fire energy.

In this deck, the Spirit equates to the traditional King card. The kings represent mastery of the element, in this case, fire. Fire energy can represent the passion and creativity behind the actions we take as we work toward our goals. I love how the flower at the foot of the figure looks like a fire and from it blooms more flowers that cover the chest area of the figure. The heart is full of life and vitality.

Evening reflection: Overall the day went pretty well. I loved the sunshine and warmer weather. I felt inspired by the work I did at my job. I have been struggling with energy lately and am happy to have some left over to do some cleaning in my home. I can get easily distracted when there is too much clutter, so I will continue to rely on the King of Wands energy to keep me on track to complete the mundane tasks of life like laundry and putting things away.

Today, the King of Wands energy feels like "I am motivated to get things done!"

As I work with the Tarot the next couple months, I will be referencing Wild Card by Jen Cownie and Fiona Lensvelt. I really enjoyed this book, particularly the questions they offer to consider for each card. One for the King of Wands is: Do you have a vision that yo want to see manifested? One of my biggest goals right now is to organize my home and find efficient ways to keep it clutter free. I want to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and healing for myself and the others who spend time in my home. A action that I can take is to begin looking through my belongings and decide what can stay and what can go. I can also reuse items in my home to redecorate and refresh the space. Time for spring cleaning!

What do you notice about this card? What messages might it have for you?
