Bard of the Card: Lucky Devil
Two of my favorite decks are the Oracle of Mystical Moments and the Tarot of Mystical Moments, both by Catrin Welz-Stein. I believe I pulled "The Devil" first and then "Oh Sunny Day." Initially, I was a bit stumped by this pairing because the "The Devil" isn't a "sunny" card. "Oh Sunny Day" is meant to represent luck and the booklet notes the images of the ladybugs. It also represents new beginnings and optimism. "The Devil" represents temptation and getting trapped much lik

Divination: Bibliomancy
I recently hosted my first community workshop: Intro to Bibliomancy at HAVEN Hdg in Havre De Grace, MD. It was a rainy gross Friday night, and I wasn’t sure if anyone would show up. So I invited my Mom to join me on a road trip to the shop since she had never been there. And I was finally able to meet Linnea, the owner! We had one more wonderful woman join us, so I was able to to “test” out my presentations and experiential experiences. To me, bibliomancy is one of the most

Bard of the Card: Building a Bouquet
One of my favorite Tarot and Oracle pairings is The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot and The Lunar Nomad Oracle. Today I pulled the six of swords, five of pentacles, and bouquet. I did take a peek at the meanings this morning to get a sense of the cards and any insight they might bring to my day. I typically pull tarot first and then pull an oracle, but today I pulled an oracle card first. A bouquet is often something that is given or received to express some level of affection

A Year With Tarot: A Flourishing Fool
As I continue to reflect on my personal journey, I have found parallels with the archetype of the Fool found in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. Over the year, join me in my journey as I travel through the tarot. Entering New Cycles This week I will be celebrating my 35th birthday. I have some mixed feelings though. I have accomplished a lot in life, but I was hoping to become a mom before this birthday. After two years of tying, two very early pregnancy losses, and three fa

A Witchy Way to Start the Day
I am not a morning person, I'm 100% a night owl. However, over the years I have gotten better at carving some morning time out for myself and not just go right into work mode. For a while, I found myself watching witchy videos on YouTube. Then I tried doing a daily card pull, but I wouldn’t always come back to it at the end of the day to reflect on what it meant. Occasionally, I will light a candle or some incense. I still haven’t made this a daily routine, but I have found

Bard of the Card: Seven of Pentacles (and Chariot in Reverse)
Seven of Pentacles from The Linstrider's Tarot by Siolo Thompson Today has been a gorgeous spring day. I was able to have a slow morning and took time with The Linestrider's Tarot for a card pull. Out popped the Seven of Pentacles…and the Chariot in reverse. Funnily, I got the Chariot upright yesterday evening. But first let’s consider the Seven of Pentacles. This morning, I thought the grass/weeds were a nest and got a sense of home and security. The flowers could potentia

Bard of the Card: Jasper and the Temple
This short story was inspired by choosing four cards: The Magician from Tarot Landscapes, the King of Pentacles from Linestrider Tarot, Bear Spirit from The Sacred Forest Oracle, and The Temple of Learning from Visions of Duality Inspirational Cards. I also utilized cards from Better Backstories. Once upon a time, there was an Owl named Jasper. He lived high up in the treetops. The trees had been home to his family for generations. In a way, he had become a king. The riches

Bard of the Card: The King of Wands
Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot Morning reflection: I drew the Spirit of Wands from The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot for today. I am always drawn to animal imagery and noted the lion immediately. I thought of the Strength card and noted that it might relate to a sense of courage, bravery, and strength. I also noticed the lizard and wasn't quite sure what it meant until my husband randomly stated "I love you salamander..." (We randomly call each other weird things, but this mi
