Seven of Pentacles from The Linstrider's Tarot by Siolo Thompson

Today has been a gorgeous spring day. I was able to have a slow morning and took time with The Linestrider's Tarot for a card pull. Out popped the Seven of Pentacles…and the Chariot in reverse. Funnily, I got the Chariot upright yesterday evening. But first let’s consider the Seven of Pentacles.

This morning, I thought the grass/weeds were a nest and got a sense of home and security. The flowers could potentially be the things protected by a home. When I took a further look at the seven of pentacles in The Linestrider's Tarot, which is a bird with weeds or grass around it. It could be a nest or the bird is just making its way through the brush. At its feet are flowers that it appears to be straddling, not stepping on. I notice the bird has a stem in its beak. I get a sense of foraging and gathering materials. This bird is working.

The suit of pentacles relates to earth energy, particularly the materials, like money, that are needed to survive day to day. I had an easy work day today, but I had some very meaningful music therapy visits. As I drove to and from my home, to my visits, and back home I felt a sense of gratitude. I am so happy to have my job and a thriving career.

This seems to align with the traditional meaning of the seven of pentacles, taking a break to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I have worked very hard and now I have added this blog to the mix. It is slowly growing, but I am happy with how it is going so far.  The Linestrider's Tarot guide confirms that the bird is building a nest and that long term success will come after the hard work.

However, the seven of pentacles, also reminds us to take a break, which I am not entirely great at doing. And this is where the Chariot might roll in. Yesterday, it showed upright and I think it meant that I am rolling along in the right direction in life in general. Today, it was reversed which could mean various things like a blockage or running off the road in a metaphorical sense.

After work, my husband and I knew we should make food at home. But we caved and decided to go out for Taco Tuesday. I had just been telling him about a nearby park I would like to visit. While we were getting our food, my husband offers that we could go to the park, eat, and then take a little walk. That sounded great! We get to the park and find some picnic tables. Then we realized we didn’t have utensils for our food…and we had to turn around and go home!

Maybe we were a bit too spontaneous and unprepared for our adventure or perhaps the universe really did want us to be at home today, enjoying our nest like the bird in the seven of pentacles!
