Now we are in the midst of Gemini season, which is from May 21-June 20. Gemini is a mutable sign signaling the end of the spring season. Mutable signs embody compromise as the wheel of the year turns to a new season led by a cardinal sign. Geminis are air signs, which relate to the mind, intellect, and communication. With their gift of gab, Geminis are here to help with the flow of information and knowledge shared between people.
Gemini’s symbol is The Twins, which is based on the myth of Castor and Pollux. One further interpretation is that there needs to be two people for an exchange of information. Other sources say The Twins represent duality- dual sides of nature, higher and lower mind, human and divine.
Interestingly, Gemini rules over the arms, hands, lungs, and nervous system. There are two of each of these. The brain has two sides and the nervous has two separate parts that make up the full system. Mercury, which has been covered in the Taurus post, corresponds with Gemini. They both share the emphasis on communication. Other correspondences include: agate, yellow, lily of the Valley, and nut bearing trees.
Gemini is related to the third house, which governs several areas of life including: family (not parents), friends/coworkers, early education, communication, day to day travel, cell phones/personal computers, social media, mental attitude/mindset, speech, memory, and perception. I will be discussing my Pluto in the third house when we get to Scorpio season.
Geminis are typically:
Versatile, adaptable
Communicative, eloquent
Witty, humorous
Intellectual, inquisitive, quick learners, logical
Youthful, playful
Lively, spontaneous
Nervous, tense
Superficial
Inconsistent, flighty
Cunning, love gossip
Non-conformist
Restless, struggle to focus, hate being bored
Social, extroverted, talkative
I personally don’t have any major placements in Gemini. However, for me, Pholus and Eros fall in Gemini. Pholus is a centaur, something between a comet and an asteroid, which is between Saturn and Neptune.
Pholus can represent generational patterns and influences on family, times of transformation, and bridge between personal and collective energy. It can bring about significant changes and shifts. Mine lies in the 10th house, which was reviewed in the Taurus post. My career and public image are impacted by this Gemini placement meaning that my career is either very transformative for myself or I will be making a transformative impact within my field.
Eros is an asteroid that highlights our erotic nature, passion, desire, creativity. This points to an emphasis on communication, mental stimulation, and learning in whatever passion they are attentive to.
