Magical Make: Witch's Ladder

One of the easiest spells to manifest something is to make a witch's ladder. All you really need is a piece of string and strong intention.
Witch's ladders, which often had feathers tied along them, were discovered in the late 1800s. It was believed that these items were related to cursing others at that time.
Today, witch's ladders are utilized for a variety of reasons...really whatever someone would like to manifest. To complete this type of spell, you acquire a piece of yarn or cord that is long enough to tie at least nine to ten knots. For my first witch's ladder, I believe I tied forty knots so the spell could be repeated a couple times to build power. This can also be accomplished with just repeating a stand of nine or ten knots.
So what is being "repeated"? As you tie each knot, while focusing your mind and will on your intention, a line of a spell is spoken. Below are two variations to inspire. You can make the words rhyme as you see fit.
By knot of one, the spell is begun
By knot of two, it cometh true
By knot of three, thus shall it be
By knot of four ,tis strengthened more
By knot if five, so may it thrive
By knot of six, the spell we fix
By knot of seven, the stars of heaven
By knot of eight, the hand of fate
By knot of nine, the thing is mine

I have used similar words, and sometimes use 10 with a line like "By knot of ten, a successful end."
You can tie each knot as you say the words or create the knots before and use the witch's ladder like prayer beads, mentioned in the link above. Depending on the intent of the spell, you can utilize corresponding colors of string/rope. For example, green for growth or prosperity. Like the original witch's ladder with feathers, some people choose to add charms.
When getting into macrame, I began to make witch's Ladders with beads and locket pendants, shown below.
You could write your intention down and/or add any special item into the locket. Then you would state the words of spell however many times you felt was needed. Afterwards, what ever was in the locket could be burned, buried, put in water to be released. You can choose to make a general witch's ladder to use over and over again, but it might be wise to cleanse and reprogram it between uses.
I believe some people might also create similar items to witch's ladders in honor of the deities they work with. So, you could consider making a witch's ladder into something like prayer beads in dedication to a certain deity.
